An origin story for Peter Pan? Um, can't we have original ideas anymore? Also, Why does every property need to have a dark treatment? Can't children have fairytales that are happy, positive and innocent without someone wanting to re-do them darkly or give them a dark past? Fairytales already have dark undertones to them (Pinoccio, Dumbo, Snow White, Bambi...most Disney stories have levels of understanding for adults that children are exposed to without being specifically given a "Batman Begins" treatment.) It allows parents to have discussions with children about the dark aspects, but at the parents discretion. What's next - a dark origin for Mary Poppins?
