Our next rewind with be Terminator...

Miles really wants to do the original Terminator movie.  We will probably be rewinding it sometime around the end of April.  Chime in and let us know your thoughts on this classic.

I just finished re-watching Terminator last night and am gathering my thoughts to prepare an audio comment.  Watch for it!

Hi All!  the 1st Terminator will always be a classic movie!  It has been awhile that I've watched the 1st one, cause they always play the others on tv a lot more!  But got to love it when Arnold walk's into that bar and take's the biker's clothes and sunglasses!  That, and when Michael Biehn comes back in time to help Linda Hamilton's character!  And time travel to begin with is pretty trippy to think about.  Thinking that his character winds up becoming the father of his best friend?!  And I'm sure it wasn't easy for John to keep it to hiimself that he had to send his father back in time to die anyway?! Sad, really if u think about it?  And then, I'm sure Michael Biehn's character Kyle Reese probably didn't know it either that he was the father of the rebel leader?!  It could make you crazy going around in circle's just thinking about it!  Oye!  Lol

That is exactly what I was thinking, about John sending his father back in time to save his mother.  What a paradox.  Mindbending!

Yep!  if you keep thinking about it what we know now about the series cause when the 1st movie came out we didn't know much about the whole history of John Connor, when the 1st one came out, I thought it was cool and all that, how this guy came from the past to try to protect Sarah Connor cause she was the mother of the rebel leader at the time.  We didn't know that he was the father until the ending!  Definitely is a paradox!  I think if it was me, that had to send my father back in time like that to his doom without even getting the chance to tell him that he was my father, I think that would drive me crazy!  Isn't that the grandfather paradox, or something like that!

Geez Jen.  I hate to admit that I have been thinking about this for a few days now in preparation for recording my comments, and frankly it is causing a few brain pains. ;).  Seriously though, it is a little insane because one of the first questions I want to ask is why didn't John send someone else back to just pull the plug on sky net, but then I think that John would have to send Reese back so that he can be born, so this must be some kind of time loop or something.

It is kind of fun to contemplate, but be careful it can make you crazy of you over think this.

Yep, exactly!  He'd still have to send Reese back just so he could be born!  Otherwise, he wouldn't exist!   It is nut's!  But fun to contemplate at the same time!  If he sent somebody else, he'd be an entirely different person?!  Lol

I always liked the second movie a bit more, but the first one had the novelty factor going for it. Very groundbreaking story line that became part of the pop culture for many years. All in all a very good movie indeed.

My favorite scene is the slow motion scene with Arnold going through the crowds of people dancing and searching for Sarah Connor and then all hell breaks loose when he does find her.
