In our sixth episode of the SciFi Diner Classic, we interview Allison Scagliotti from Warehouse 13.  Since we do a news and interview show, it goes without saying that the news portion of our episodes often date themselves fast. And while the interviews with the people that make Science Fiction happen remain relevant and in our opinion important, most listeners will not listen back 100 episodes and wade through old news just to get to the interview. So what the SciFi Diner Classic aims to do is to share these interviews with you. If you have been with us from the beginning, then bear with us as we introduce some of our newer listeners to voices from the past. Let me know what you think of this idea. Like it? Hate it? Let me know. We’re bringing you just the interview and nothing else.

Allison Scagliotti

Personal life

Scagliotti was born in Monterey, California, her parents divorced when she was two. At age seven, Scagliotti moved to Mandeville, Louisiana, where she joined her school’s drama club. She is a fan of punk rock music, especially Courtney Love and Joan Jett- the latter of whom appeared in her first movie.

Career

Scagliotti has had various small television roles during her career including stints on Zoey 101, One Tree Hill, and CSI although she is better recognized as Mindy Crenshaw on the Nickelodeon series Drake & Josh.

Her first lead role was as Maddie in the film Redemption Maddie.

Scagliotti also portrays the character Claudia Donovan in the 2009 series, Warehouse 13 on Syfy. Her character was introduced early in the premiere season and she appeared in most of the remaining episodes (though credited as a guest star until season two). Her character crossed over to Eureka when she guest-starred in the season four episode “Crossing Over”.

She appeared as Jayna, the female Wonder Twin, in the 8th episode of the ninth season of Smallville.

She has appeared as a guest on the show Destination Truth and The Nerdist Podcast hosted by Chris Hardwick.

She will soon be appearing in the indie film Losers Take All, set in the 1980s rock music scene.

Scagliotti is also a bit of a comics buff, and currently she is being considered to play one of her favorite comic book heroines Cassie Hack in the upcoming film adaptation of Hack/Slash.
