Hi Guys! Because of work, I fall behind your podcasts often, but just listened to your discussion of the finale of Falling Skies. While I was disappointed in Tom Mason at the shooting of Karen and prhaps it was a bit out of character, but this is a man who has gone through alot of torure, physical as well as mental and emotional and who was under the belief that Karen was responsible for his wife and child’s deaths. I find it interesting that you find this so much more out of character than Superman’s taking of Zod’s life in Man of Steel. Here s a character who is supposed to be better than us. Who takes his Zod’s life rather than simply turn Zod’s head, so it doesn’t face the threatened family? Superman, who during his fight with Zod, caused the death of untold numbers of people (I am not buying the story that all of Meropolis was evacuated – do you know how long that would actually take?) That was more acceptable than Tom Mason killing the person he believed murdered his wife and child? I don’t recall even a look of horror from Supeman, as entire buildings were being demolished, time and time again. I think you guys were a bit soft on Superman, because it was his “first adventure.” Even at the end of Man of Steel, where is the anguish at the deaths of so many people? Anyway, that’s just my opinion. I’d love to hear your responses.
